BASO Project

Ambitious Technology & Satellites startup that developes some interesting projects such as CanSat or KubeSat

Meet us now

Main Characteristics

We have three main features related to our job that identifies us as a team:

Ambition

We want to create amazing projects to advance in technology

Creativity

We try to generate innovative and original ideas for technology

Communication

We are a very cohesive, communicative, and united team

Meet our projects

We have developing two different projects since our start. The main goal of our latest project (CanSat) is to use a satellite equipped with magnetic field sensors and air quality measurement tools. The goal is to obtain valuable data that will help us determine if these exoplanets could potentially sustain life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here we have a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) to help answer any queries you might have. We hope you find out all doubts answers. Anyway, feel free to contact us if you have any suggestion or doubt.

Why did we decide to create this startup?

BASO Project (Binissalem Aeronautics and Space Observation) was originally founded as a company with the goal of collaborating with UIB on the KubeSat project, a nano-satellite sent over 30 km in altitude. After the success of the mission, new members joined with a desire for further development and teamwork, and we decided to embark on the incredible project that is the CanSat.

What is CanSat Project?

The CanSat project is an educational initiative that involves the design, construction, and launch of a small satellite (the size of a soda can) by students. It aims to provide students with practical experience in various fields such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and space-related disciplines such as satellite development, data analysis, and mission management. The CanSat project is often used as a stepping stone for students interested in pursuing a career in the aerospace industry.

What aspirations do we have for the future?

Our passion for aerospace technology also comes from a desire to make the world a better place. We see the potential of space exploration and technology to solve some of the world's most pressing issues, such as climate change and resource scarcity. We are constantly inspired by the advancements in aerospace technology. The idea of exploring the unknown, discovering new worlds, and pushing the boundaries of human knowledge is what motivates us to work in this field.

Sponsors

We are very grateful to our sponsors for wanting to support and keep this project going. Without their help, we could not achieve our goals nor have the ability to have the necessary components at our disposal for each of the projects. Therefore, we want to give a big gratitude to these companies:

A select group of data scientists, Python and Javascript developers, Cloud & SRE engineers, and AWS architects managing complexity. This group helped us since the beginning of our project, giving support/some important materials for our project, and we are so grateful with their collaboration.

IES Binissalem logo

Institut d'Educació Secundària Binissalem

Our high school, where we developt our projects and they give us the knowledge, ideas and all the base materials we needed to overcome our challenges. We want to specially thanks Miquel (our teacher) too for the support and kindness he had with us during the project.
